Hoarders

Posted on
This is pretty much a show that you’re going to take or leave (like the majority of “Reality” TV – or the genre itself). Sometimes I’ll watch the show and wonder to myself why it is I’m even watching these sad, sad people. Or why it is they want their shame televised. I guess if their only way of getting help happens to come along with a television crew then that’s the deal.

My husband and I often wonder if hoarding is mostly an American problem. I assume that it has to be a problem unique to the Western world at least. Where else to we value stuff so much? In a lot of cases it’s not the actual stuff, it’s the act of buying and shopping. There’s a rush; a gush of serotonin that’s released. For that to happen you need to have a least a tiny bit of disposable income.

I’m not going to go into any more hypotheticals or go into something I’m not qualified to write about. All I know is that I get sucked into watching this show for hours on a Sunday afternoon! A few seasons are available as Watch Instantly on Netflix which makes it so much easier to keep on watching.
